“The road between Brook and Freshwater Bay is a rollercoaster of a ride with the most amazing views. The wind knocks you sideways when going fast downhill, but the thrill is too great to slow down. I sketched this on location, embedded in a very prickly gorse bush. It was a cold, bright day that was perfect for sketching. I debated whether to include the road sign, but I think it makes the painting.”
