At the Compton farm end of Compton beach it is possible to book surfing lessons, accessed via a long sweep of tumbling wood steps. Whilst sitting watching I sketched and painted some of this. The colours of the sand at Compton are magnificent, I particularly like the purple hues. This is quite a paired down scene for me but I think it captures some of the informality you get on the rugged beach at Compton.
This has been drawn on location with a fine liner pen and painted in my studio with artists quality Windsor and Newton watercolours. The painting measures 31 x 23cm and comes in a 51 x 41cm frame in contemporary white or grey painted wood.
