It was incredibly windy and cold when I sketched this, the surfers must have a lot of grit as my fingers were really numb after a short while. I love painting the summer scenes but so much happens on our wonderful island I like to capture the rough waters and wild winds too. The kite sails were like upturned jelly fish stranded on the beach.
