The light was really special – the figures were in shadow with almost a light glow around them, there is something poignant about enjoying a beach at the end of the day. The two children are ferociously digging a hole determined not to go home. The little white dog in this painting has become a bit of an icon for me and I have used it on the jigsaw boxes as well as some of the packaging for my products.
